The Mete peshtemal is gently handwoven by master ateliers on wooden shuttle looms. A peshtemal is a traditional towel used in baths. A staple of Persian and Ottoman hammam culture, dating back hundreds of years, the pestemal was originally designed to help individual bathers maintain their privacy. In addition to being highly absorbent, pestemals dry faster than thicker towels.
Super lightweight and endlessly versatile, it can be used as a towel, scarf or sarong.
A rustic peshtemal, the Mete comes in cream with subtle soft fawn pin stripes and block trim and works well in modern rustic, boho and global modern interiors.
